Did you mean to write that you receive spam reviews when the option “Reviews can only be left by verified owners” is unchecked?

Sorry, but yes! I have tradeshow customer that bought my book in person, so they don’t have an account. Do you have any recommendation to accommodate those customers?

Since these customers never bought anything from your WooCommerce store, you will need to open review forms for all visitors and not just for those people who actually had an order in your online store. As you noted, it will likely lead to many SPAM reviews.

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do in this situation. The only available protection is to enable Captcha. It will help you to stop bots from submitting reviews automatically. However, people who never bought anything in your store still will be able to write a review, if they solve the Captcha.

I know this is a couple of weeks old now, but one possible solution would be to manually create an order for the customer in WooCommerce (don’t use their email address though). Mark it as completed, then after saving it update the email address to their email and save it again, this way they won’t get all the order status update emails. Once that is done, you could send them a review reminder from WooCommerce.
