I’ve set up Front End Users and can create a user, but when that user is logged in WordPress doesn’t see them as logged in for the purposes of leaving a comment on a blog page.

I’ve read through 2 years of this support forum and found a couple of other people that asked how to do this and saw replies about using [restricted] shortcode, but that is not possible due to the add comment section being part of the page template.

Have you guys figured out an easier way to do this than editing the page template?

    Thanks,
    Justin

    Hi Justin,

The login that happens with this plugin is separate from and independent of the traditional WordPress login. Most likely, the commenting system on your site (in your theme) requires that someone be logged in to a WordPress user account. If that is indeed the case, then, since the user accounts created by our plugin are separate from the regular WordPress user accounts, you wouldn’t be able to comment just by being logged in to a front-end account (the one generated by our plugin), because you aren’t logged in to a WordPress user account, which the commenting requires.

If you’re using the premium version, one thing you can do is enable the “Create WordPress User” option (“Premium” area of the “Options” tab). This will make it so that, when a new front-end user is registered, a corresponding WordPress account is also created. Then, when someone logs in with that WordPress account, they will automatically also be logged in to their front-end users account.
