Logfile Spam

  • I get regularly nasty visitors: A certain page is requested (even it does not exist), some minutes later same page with the same IP, but with another referral.
    Some hours later the same game starts again, but with another IP but still the same page.

    Is it possible to lock out anybody who accesses such a page for an hour?

    BTW my logs are protected and not visible for anyone.

  • Hey LSBK,

    The offending IP is going to have to meet your lockout criteria in order to be locked out for hitting the 404. The best way to resolve this would be to fix the 404(s) on your site. This could possibly help with search ranking as well. If you’re not able to do this yourself I’d suggest asking a trusted developer, it really shouldn’t take lang at all.
