log in unsuccessful after upgrading; webhost or wordpress?

    I have not been able to log in to my dashboard since upgrading to 2.8. I suspect it is a server problem but I want to be sure before contacting my webhost. I sent a request for a new password but have not received anything from wordpress. I have been a bit of a bother to the admin at my host so I just want to be sure it is not something on the wp side. the upgrade was successful but upon completion login was not.

  • Just for the heck of it, have you already tried clearing your browser cache and then logging in again? Or are you actually getting an invalid user name or password message?

    I have tried 20 times to establish my WP site (so much for 5 min set up!!!!)

    I get through all steps ok including install and after i get my username and WP temp passord i click LOGIN and get error:

    The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
    The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.

    I checked my fatcow account and have no CGI errors— what gives??

    You don’t have the same problem. Some possibilities here:

    The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

    The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.
