Log In / Register Pages Don't Work

WP is installed on https://few-fyfe.no-ip.info/ – not https://www.few-fyfe.co.uk/ – so you must use that url to log in.

For the first example, WP is installed on https://simonfyfe.no-ip.info and the log-in and register screens work fine if you actually visit via https://www.simonfyfe.co.uk.

For the second example, the only difference is that I upgraded the site from WP 3.1.2 to 3.2.1.

Yes it is. https://www.few-fyfe.co.uk/ is just a frame for https://few-fyfe.no-ip.info/

OK, but why does the first example work when it is set up in exactly the same way? The only difference between the two examples is that I’ve upgraded the second one to WP 3.2.1.

I’ve reverted the broken site to WP 3.1.2 (made no changes to where the site is installed) and the log-in and register pages now work from either https://www.few-fyfe.co.uk or https://few-fyfe.no-ip.info.

So problem only occurs when I upgrade beyond version 3.1.2.

Any ideas?

Have you tried:

– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Yes, tried those.

I run 5 wordpress sites from my server, all different themes, and the same problem occurs if I upgrade any of them beyond 3.1.2.

I’ve also tried creating a new site (rather than doing updates) with the install address being the https://www.sitename.com address. The installation page appears, the database tables are created, but the log-in page doesn’t work unless I change url to sitename.no-ip.info address.
