Members who are already logged in are being asked to log in again. Pages that are protected for logged in users are not working. The only way I’ve been able to get around the problem is to use a local application to clear all my browser caches, not a sustainable solution for my members. Any advice?

I think you might be right. Unfortunately I haven’t had luck figure out how to remedy that yet. I’m using PHP version 7.0. and my server is running Apache.

You should update your PHP version to at least 7.3. What MySQL version is your server running? Also what Apache version is your server running? Who is your host?

What MySQL version is your server running?

    Looks like MySql 5.5

That MySQL version is no longer supported. Please check the following link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MySQL for more information.

You must update as soon as possible. Speak to your host about it, because it can be a bit tricky updating from 5.5 to 5.7.

    Kind regards

I got in contact with them and they had some clarifications. Currently have MariaDB 10.1.37. which seems to support most of MySql 5.7

Okay that is good to know. While you have their attention, let me know of the problem you are having with our plugin. Also let them know that you also tested a different membership plugin with the same results. See if they can find out why this is happening in your site.

    Kind regards

At this point, they don’t view it as a hosting issue. They haven’t left me with much help. Thank you for all your insight and feedback. Not sure what my next step is. Probably trying premium support when things calm down next week.

Hi, there is one more check you can carry out.

Go to Tools -> Site Health to check your site status. This can help you further find out issues with your site.

Two items were listed under critical issues:

    – The REST API encountered an error
    – Your site could not complete a loopback request

I’ll follow up with my hosting provider and see if I can get those resolved. Thanks.

It looks like adding an SSL certificate should solve the REST API issue and the lookback request appears to be an intermittent flag. Otherwise, the health check hasn’t raised anything significant.

That is good to know. It looks like you are slowly fixing a few issues in your site.

Alright, I’ve cleared the site health issues. I now have a clean report, prior to reinstalling any sort of membership plugins. I will test things out over the next few weeks and report back.

At the very least, you’ve helped clear out some things on my site that needed updating. Thank you for your help!
