I guess the quickest way would be to reinstall the plugin again. But when it ask you if you want to enable the previous settings say no.

Hi carry out the following instructions.

    – Deactivate the plugin.

    – FTP to your host and make sure the following folder all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall has been deleted. If not delete the plugin folder.

    – FTP the .htaccess file to your computer and edit and remove all the code between and including the tags:
    # BEGIN All In One WP Security
    # END All In One WP Security

    – Log into phpMyAdmin and locate the database for the website you are having problems with. Look for any table entry with the following name aiowps and delete those tables.

There should be 5 tables associated with this plugin:
    aiowps_events
    aiowps_failed_logins
    aiowps_global_meta
    aiowps_login_activity
    aiowps_login_lockdown

Let me know if you need more help.

    Regards

i found the correct tables to delete….can i use the file manger to edit the .htaccess file ? if so where would it be located ? thank you

You can use file manage to download the .htaccess file locally and then edit the file using a simple text editor. The .htaccess file is found in the root of your site. You will also see other WordPress files.

Hi, please read the following documentation. That will help you understand everything you need to know about WordPress installation, .htaccess file and more.

    i am editing the htaccess……it should be .htaccess.txt ?

    (@mbrsolution)

Hi, if you only see .htaccess.txt file then your permalink is probably not set up.

However if you see .htaccess file then that is the file you need to edit. This file is a hidden file so make sure you read the instructions in the URL I provide above from WordPress.

Okay, let me know when you do. It is important that you carry out this step or else the plugin will not be completely deleted.
