• I try to login to /wp-amin and the page will act like it accepted the right credentials but it just loads the log-in screen. I disabled all my plug-ins and switched to the 2015 theme to see if these were giving me the problem. I still cannot login without resetting my password every time I log-in.

I am hosting the website with go-daddy. I will ask if they are hosting the WordPress installation on a windows server and ask to have them move it to a Linux server as I was recommended to do that.

What do you guys think? I don’t know what to do and every time I setup a WordPress site on go-daddy, I have a problem. I personally get free hosting at godaddy from a family owned deluxe account so I would rather not pay for separate hosting for wordpress and would like a work around for go-daddy if at all possible.

  • When I worked at BlueHost, I saw this sometimes, (they use linux all the way) sometimes doing a core file replacement might help. basically its just replacing all the old files with a new unzipped WordPress. Your content and everything will be fine.

So I don’t need to re-install WordPress. I need to replace all the WordPress files on my server the 4.6.1 and replace them through ftp? I’ll try that and see if it works.

Correct, you don’t need to reinstall. If your site is really new though, and you haven’t done much work on it then I would say to reinstall that. But a core file replacement might just do the trick.

So my site was new. I uninstalled the WordPress installation through GoDaddy. I then logged into the server through ftp and erased all the left over files from the unistaller.

I started a fresh install and setup my admin account. I installed my theme X from theme forest, I paid for it and itS a different theme from what I was using when I had trouble in my original post.

After installing plugins, extensions, and adding site content, I logged out of the admin account.

I tried signing in and I got the same problem as before. It’s highly unlikely that it’s the themes, they are different, it’s not the plugins because I disabled and deleted them and the problem still persists.

Any ideas? I’m almost ready to start blogging in HTML 5 and CSS 3. There’s a learning curve but it beats not knowing what’s broken… Thank you for taking time to read my post on this problem.

    what is your websites name?

Additionally this might be able to help, if you have not tried it already.
