Log-In problem – can’t get to dashboard

  • I cannot log in to my web site’s dashboard. When I enter my user name and password, the “hour glass” spins for a moment – then, nothing! Cookies are enabled, my cache has been emptied. I was able to log in on an old install on another site. I can log in to the WordPress site. I have uninstalled and re-installed wordpress 2.7 on this site several times – all with the same result!

    I am an absolute newby, and have few skills and little understanding of terms — someone please help!!

  • Just as a comfort, I’m not a newbie and am having this same problem. My thread is “Locked out of updated site”. There are some solutions there that didn’t work for me but may for you.

    Thanks, Tawanda. There were no plugins on the old one. I’ve done everything elso you listed in your thread except “run emergency .php” – not sure what that is! I’m still locked out!
