log in, php access problems

Please help…
I installed wordpress, it worked fine until I recently tried to log in and the admin username came up as invalid. And, I found out that my filezilla, notepad++ and extracted wdpress files are gone with my jump drive. What can I do without overwriting anything(and I am fine with re-installing or deleting some files)? Please explain simply and clearly if you can help. Thanks.
