• I have a multisite installation which I moved from Hostmonster to HostMetro.

Everything was working then a while ago, not sure when, instead of the usual login page I get a dialogue box similar to the one for logging into a router.

I’ve entered the ID and password but am returned to the same box. Tried logging into different sites within the multisite installation, nothing!

I’ve tried clearing cookies etc. Tried Firefox and even iExplorer. With Firefox and iExplorer the dialogue includes some stuff about CAPTCHA.

It has been suggested an automatic WordPress update might be to blame.

Has anyone experienced this, some words of wisdom would be much appreciated.

That’s an .htpassword login dialog. Check with your host. They may be protecting your login page.

    It’s *not* a WordPress thing.

    THANK YOU!

I think that’s pretty messed up, what a pity they didn’t tell me!

I’ve found that if I take the CAPTCHA details from FF or IE and enter them in the Chrome dialogue box it throws an error, but still displays the WordPress log in page.

I really appreciate your help, thanks again!!!
