I have tried all my usual passwords to no avail and when I tried to reset the password the link takes me to a blank page. I am not sure what to do or what the issues is.

Hoping someone can give some advice or a place to start debugging this issue. I use the wordpress online to do everything so if I cannot get into the site I am a little SOL. Thanks!

    Hiya,

It seems like something strange is going on with your admin side indeed.

I see you mentioned that you only use the WordPress panel for performing tasks, are you also familiar with the control panel of your hosting provider?

What is most likely happening here is that a plugin is creating some headaches for you, and to address this you’ll need to use the file manager from your host, or an FTP program (using the file manager being the simpler approach if you are unfamiliar with FTP and the likes).

It appears that you are hosted with BlueHost (after a quick check), so I’ll have the steps you need to follow based on their control panel:

Start by logging in at https://my.bluehost.com
Once logged in, scroll slightly down on the page to the section labeled files, in this section you’ll fine the File Manager.

once having clicked this, you should be presented with a lot of files and folders, on the left hand side navigate to the folder named public_html/wp-content (it may not be exactly like that, but you should be able to find a folder named wp-content inside the public_html one).

Once you find that folder, inside it is another folder, named plugins, rename this folder (right click like you would on any computer and select Rename), and name it something simple like plugins-old.

Now try logging in, if you can login visit the Plugins section of the admin area of WordPress, this will ensure all plugins are marked as disabled.

After visiting that page, you can now change the name of that folder back again (from plugins-old to just plugins).

You should be able to enable your plugins one at a time until you find the one that broke things (you may have to do the renaming trick again once you find the cause of the errors).

If this doesn’t help, do let me know and we’ll see if we can try something else ??

Thank you! I got it! I didn’t realize the bluehost was connected and when I logged in it said core files were changed so that allowed me to fix the issue.
