    Hi Alberto,

I have noticed something interesting. While the log in and out process through Clean Login works perfectly, the number of log ins (and information such as last login time) is not updated in the Users section of the WP dashboard. If an administrator logs in then the count is sometimes updated but if a subscriber logs in then the count is never updated. Thus, if a user with a subscriber role is registered and then logs in and out of the site, say ten times, then that users record keeps showing 0 logins. I wonder if you could throw some light on this issue. It may have more to do with the working of WP core than that of Clean Login itself.

    Faiz

    Hi Faiz,

We applied the same filter after login as the WordPress core, could you please be more specific? where do you see this counter? are you using any external plugin for that?, maybe we can figure it out how to account for that.

    Best regards,

    Alberto.

    Hi Alberto,

Thanks so much for your offer of help. Let me describe this issue in more detail.

I can go to the ‘Users’ tab (at the left of the screen on the WordPress Dashboard) to see a list of all registered users, their assigned roles, last login dates and #login (number of logins). This is a core WP functionality so any WP administrator can do this.

I see that if I login using WP native php (using the link /wp-admin) then that login attempt is properly recorded in the Users tab (complete with last login date, number of logins etc.)

However, if I login from the front of the website (using the link /login) where a login page with Clean Login shortcode is used then although the login itself works without any problem the login record in the WP Users tab is not updated. So login with Clean Login plugin is essentially not counted! I do not know how this can happen unless Clean Login does not do something that the WP native code does on every login attempt. I have tested this several times and this is the behaviour that I get.

I can confirm that user registration through Clean Login works well and all details appear in the Users list (like date of registration). It is only the login process through Clean Login that fails to update the WP Users table.

Let me know if you need any further information. I am sending you two screen shots through your gmail e-mail account. These show what I see on my WP dashboard for you to get an idea. Again, thanks for your help.

    Hi Faiz,

Which plugin are you using for that? as far as I know, this is not included in the WordPress core.

    Hi Alberto,

You are absolutely right. I found out that this functionality is not coming from the WordPress core but from a plugin called MemberPress that I have on my site. I’ll now ask them about this issue as now it is clear that their plugin only records number of logins for any user if login is performed from wp-admin script but not if this is done using the Clean Login plugin. Let me investigate this with them and then I’ll get back to you.
