Lodestar: Top menu won’t go away!

Hi,

I’m running the lodestar theme on my own instance of wordpress and although I don’t have a top menu defined, it’s appearing anyway. I have a social menu defined, which I have set to appear in the “social” context, but that doesn’t want to appear on the front page footer (which is where I anticipated it would show up).

Any thoughts? I’m more concerned with the fact the top header menu is appearing even although I don’t have one defined.
