I am currently translating a paid wp_courseware plug-in, with Loco. The Loco plug-in works very well and I like it a lot, but there is a problem with the wp_courseware plug-in: when the Loco is enabled, a block of the courseware (that manages the course units) disappears. If I disable the Loco plug-in, the previously blocked part of the courseware is displayed. (I had to disable all the plugins to understand where the problem is!)

What should I do to repair the Loco plug-in? Who should I talk to?

The page with the problem is visible only to the editor of the course, and not for everyone.

    Thank you very much

With the plugin disabled are the same translation files still being loaded and displayed? If not, then the test doesn’t prove the plugin is the issue.

My guess is that it’s the translations that are the issue, not my plugin. I say that because I don’t see how the plugin could cause any such problem directly. All it does is modify the paths of MO files to allow you to save files in a custom folder. That’s it. I can’t imagine how that functionality could affect anything so dramatically. More likely is that your plugin does something with values that behave differently when translated.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I did a test:
I copy the translated file to the system and disable LOCO – the problem persists with translation, without translation all is ok. So the problem is the translation.

I’m trying to look for the probable html tags not closed in the translated text … It is difficult, for example the Loco plugin does not find the “<” symbol, but finds many lines without. It does the same both with quotes and without.
I read the manual and found no help how searching for html tags.

There are 5000 lines to check.
    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

So the problem is the translation.

This is a matter for the plugin developer. If critical functionality is being affected by a translation value (HTML or otherwise) then they have a major bug.

Yes it is a problem, for example in addition the LOCO plugin does not find the strings with the symbol “<“, but finds lot of string without. How to find only the lines with this html tag symbol, for example?
    Thank you

Loco Translate allows you to translate any strings the developer has defined in their POT (template) file. See the documentation.

If they haven’t provided a template then see FAQ: Missing templates.

Hi Tim, thank you. I know this. I have POT. I ask about how to find all strings with simbol “<” with LOCO, I cannot. Thank you

If you’re asking how to filter the file editor to show only strings with a “<” character, you cannot. The search box above the editor operates on words only.

I very sad about it. Thank you.
