    Hi,
After fresh wp install (tried several times) when trying to go to page mypage.com/wp-login.php i get a following message:
    You are temporarily locked out
    bla bla bla
    and at the end –
    Generated by Wordfence.

no specific error description is shown.

moreover when i look at wp-content/plugins folder – Wordfence is not even installed.

what could be the problem and how can I solve it?
    Thank you

    Hi,

If Wordfence isn’t in the plugins folder, you might be seeing a message cached by an external cache like Varnish. Most hosts don’t cache the lockout messages, but if you have Varnish and can temporarily disable it, that may fix it.

Is it possible the DNS record for the site is pointing to the wrong host, or that your control panel is not set up correctly, so the wrong site is loading? If there is no cache involved, it shouldn’t be possible to get Wordfence error messages when trying to log in, if the plugin isn’t in the plugins folder.
