    Hello

in Locked IP Addresses tab, please explain to me what is difference between Unlock and Delete? because both have same effect for me – address is gone from the table.

Maybe this is a bug, instead of “Unlock” it should be “Block permanently”? Make more sense.

    thanks

Hi, in regards to your question let me know if my answers help you.

    1) Unlock will unlock the IP address so that the person login from that IP address can log back in without any issues or delays.

2)Delete will delete any trace from that IP address that was locked. For example if the user with that IP address tries to log in again they will probably be locked out again as before.

Let me know if you need more information or help.

    Kind regards

Im still not getting it. You mean Unlock will put the IP address to whitelist table in User Login -> Login Lockdown IP Whitelist Settings ?

Well it is not working anyway, really Unlock and Delete buttons do the same, just delete the IP.

Can I ask you, send this to developers as request: Locked IP Addresses tab – change Unlock and Delete buttons to: Delete, To whitelist, To blacklist

    thank you

    @dragy,
“unlock” will unlock the IP range and also keep this record in the database.

“delete” will unlock the IP range but it will delete that record from the database.

Sometimes people want to keep medium or long term records of all of locked IP ranges and the corresponding data for investigation purposes which is why we have the unlock command.
If you simply want to unlock an address and don’t want to keep that record in the DB then use the delete option.

ps: I will in the near future improve that unlock table so you can also see the previously unlocked records which are still in DB. In the meantime you can view these via PHPMyAdmin.

Ah I see, that is the issue, that I can not see “the DB” in wordpress. That’s why I did not understand this function.

Did you consider my suggestion to make Delete, To whitelist, To blacklist buttons?

    thx

    Hi
The unlock functionality discussed here has nothing to do with the whitelist or blacklist features.
I might in future depending on time add the ability to add locked ip addresses to white or blacklists.
