• Hi. I need some help in a major way. A couple of hours ago, I was trying to create a Page on my blog. The instant that I hit the post button, it locked up. I waited a few minutes, everything was still locked up, so I closed out the window.

Now, I can’t access anything…my blog, the control panel, etc. When I try to navigate to any part of my blog, it says “Waiting on https://www.site.com….” in the status bar for like 10 minutes, and then it comes up and says it can’t connect, timed out, etc.

Can anyone please tell me how to fix this? Thanks in advance!!

  • I’m not posting the site URL, but if it is, what I’m thinking it is.. it came up for me! =)

For the curious, it’s listed here, if this is what you’re referring to right?

No, different one this time. This one is safe for work, even though it doesn’t sound like it https://www.womenswrestlingxposed.com

Oh! Ok..let me try that once..

Hmm, just wasn’t loading at all..had: “waiting for: womenswrestlingxposed.com” in the browser footer.. maybe your host’s server or something is being worked on, or something.. I dunno though, I’m not a “professional” at this..lol!

I have several sites (including the one you thought I was talking about) hosted on the same server, and they are all working ok.

Any other ideas? Could it be that it somehow locked up the MySQL?

Hmm, you could maybe try deleting that page via the phpMyAdmin or something.. I’m not sure though, because like I said..I’m not a “professional” at this type of thing.. this never happened to me before either.. [knocks on wood] quick!

Also, maybe try Optimizing your database for it as well.

    That didn’t work either. ??

Hmm..you have Cache for it, enabled or anything “special” you’ve added to it or something..maybe.. Cause this is weird..I never had a problem like this come up for me.. =/ [again, knocks on wood quick!]

No, not that I can think of.

Do you have access to PHP error logs? If so, that could more or less tell us the problem straight away.

Check your .htaccess file. It begins with a . so you won’t see it in a normal file browser. Try deleting that file and seeing if you can get anything.

If you can’t do what Jeremy suggests, then maybe only other option is to delete it all and start over..sigh. =( Any word on it?

Could it perhaps be some kind of permalink/mod_rewrite issue with rewrites ending up in some sort of loop? Not that I have any real knowledge of that, but I know there is a warning against using /%postname%/ only in posts, and the regular page-naming seems to be the same to me.

I also support the suggestion to delete .htaccess, and if that works change the slug of that last page before updating the permalink structure again.
