• Hey guys I have several blogs that I cannot access now after the latest upgrade. I can type address and blog comes up but, I cannot enter backend. I get a 404 that says I don’t have permissions to access wp-login.php in this server, How can I get back in there and fix my blog? I took all files off the server and reuploaded with a fresh Wp instal and re added my wp-config and theme. But Im still locked out.

I just redirected to example.com/wp-login.php and I was able to get the screen to login to come up but even after doing a password reset I still get the same error.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). Don’t forget the ones in mu-plugins. If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

Using ftp or signing in to your hosted account, rename your theme. That will force wp to open with the default theme.

Ok guys, Im completely lost! I tried renaming the theme that just pulled up a blank site.
I tried all the options on the above link. The error is a 403 Forbidden and this is what its says:

You don’t have permission to access /wp-login.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – renaming or deleting the .htaccess file by using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. If you delete it make a backup first.

Delete wp-admin and wp-includes folders from the server and then upload them from a fresh download of WordPress by using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
