Locked out of site after editing counts?
-
This is a weird one, I was working on a client site and we’re ready to launch and I decided to clear the download counts back to zero. After that I lost connection to the server and couldn’t get anything to load – nothing in the front end OR the back end. I thought that it was an issue with the server, so told my client who contacted the host, who said everything loaded fine on their end, plus my client could see everything on the site and log in as well.
They told me to clear my cache and cookies (hah) and I got busy with other stuff, then last night my client was testing the downloads and when he went to change the count back to zero, then suddenly HE can’t access the site. When I got home there were all these panicked messages from him, but in the meantime I’d cleared everything and rebooted and when I went to the site it loaded fine, logged in, everything was normal.
I asked the client to clear his cache and cookies, he did all that and he’s still not seeing the site. The front end and the back end are just blank like his IP has been blocked.
I asked him to go through a proxy and his site loaded fine. It seems like too much of a coincidence that both of us got blocked directly after manually changing the download counts.
I know the plugin author isn’t doing support anymore but was hoping maybe someone who is using the plugin could give me some input.
