Locked out of my own site

    I can’t sign in as admin. I can’t figure out why. I don’t have any problems with my other sites – just that one. I use the same password with all of them. Now it doesn’t recognize my password or my email address, for that matter.

    When I enter admin and click for new password, something happens, I get a message to check my email. An email I never get. So, it must have something to do with the email I entered. Is there a way to get to the bottom of this?

    I have access to my cpanel, if that helps.

  • Take you hands away from your hair!

    First, try a different browser.

    If no joy, in cpanel, using the file manager, rename the plugins folder and the gourmet-cafe theme. That will force wp to open sans plugins and with the default theme. If that solves the problem then you know it is a plugin or theme and can go from there.

    I did that – renamed plugin folder and gourmet-cafe. I still can’t sign in. it’s still looking for my password.

    Here’s what I did. Since asking to reset password and not receiving an email, I thought maybe when I got the new computer, that I did not register a certain email. So I added a new email address and BINGO, everything worked.

    Thanks for you help. I appreciate it very much. It eliminated certain possibilities.
