This morning, I deactivated CLEF, and tried to change my Admin Account password through GoDaddy Installatron, but received an error.
Tech support showed me how to change password in myPHPAdmin, and I tried to login with new credentials and now I am locked completely locked out despite me having Wordfence set to ignore my I.P. address and that of my emergency mobile hotspot backup access.

I’ve tried using only the userid and pw combo and the email address and pw combo. Neither works, and I;m actually locked out.

An end user experienced similar issue where he seemed to successfully reset his login multiple times, but it never let him in through normal request process. I had to manually change his password before it would allow him access.

    I am using Chrome Version 56.0.2924.87 in a SurfacePro4.

  • Not sure if this helps. I login to cpanel, go to wp-content/plugins/wordfence and rename it. Then login, then rename wordfence back again.

@grumblenz, thanks for your suggestion. I contacted GoDaddy and they were able to go in and deactivate my plugins. Next, they helped me change my admin password so that I could remove CLEF and and I had a “redundant” security plugin installed and they suggested it may have inadvertently caused a conflict. I removed that as well. I apologize I didn’t have an opportunity to update my status on this issue until now due to some family medical issues, business meetings and wind-generated power outages in my area.

Again, thank you very much for taking the time to offer an alternative resolution.

    Have a great evening.

I hope my reply helps someone else!

I changed the login screen url. Someone kept trying to break in, so I made it harder for them. I used the login meta button and that brought me to the screen I needed.
I moved from a right to a left sidebar, and I did not add the login meta button on the new sidebar.
Now I cannot figure out how to get back in.
It is for one of my subdomains, not the primary domain.
