    Hi Gioni,

Following your advice, I’m testing the plugin on a site that has little activity. I installed the plugin and removed the site from cloudflare. I set up a new login url; checked the Do Not Redirect box; selected to immediately block attempts to go to wp-admin.php and wp-login.php; added my IP address to the whitelist and set *.*.*.* to the blacklist. Everything looks good from the backend…

When I try to login via the newly created url, I get the following: “You are not allowed to log in. Ask your administrator for assistance.”

I looked for answers on the subject but didn’t find a relevant solution…

    Please help…

    Thank you,
    JF

    Hi!

If you are locked out, you have two ways to solve this issue. You can delete the plugin folder by using FTP or any file manager in your hosting control panel and log into your site as usual. After that, you need to install the plugin again. Alternatively, you can remove all rows from the cerber_acl table in your database by using PHPMyAdmin.

Sorry if I didn’t make myself clear. I didn’t ask how to regain control — I have access to the server and can rename the plugin directory…

Rather, WHY did I get locked out and how do I prevent this from happening again, given the settings I described to you. The blacklist/whitelist specification came from you; and even though my own IP is on the whitelist, it appears that the blacklist settings (*.*.*.*) blocks me.

If I am to use the plugin, I need to not be blocked… ??

Please help me understand how to set it up so that this is avoided.

    Thank you,
    JF

Please install the latest version (4.8.1) of the plugin. One bug has been discovered and fixed. It’s related to the IP Access Lists. I believe that this is your case.
