    Hi,

I’m using your plugin on a test site before upgrading. I set every security feature for the plugin.

    1) I set my ip as a whitelisted IP
    2) Chnaged the default login page
    3) Also set a secret word for the PHP which will run

    sitename/?secretword=1

When I went to login the secret word wouldn’t work.
I then accessed the login page using the one I listed for my site as:

    site/login_page_new_url

The login message after I made a mistake told me my IP address was blocked. I didn’t know how to unlock it so I just reinstalled the entire site.

    Any suggestions?

Hi jeditor when you enable the Whitelist IP feature it will only allow the IP address you add. So if your IP address is dynamic that means that next time when you try to log in you will be blocked because your IP address is different. You have to be very careful if you enable this feature.

Thanks MBRSolution for your response. However, my IP is not dynamic and was also whitelisted so that wouldn’t be the problem. Besides other regular members on a site may have dynamic and the login would be based on credentials and not IP for them…unless they were hacking or doing something unauthorized.

Anyone else out there with an answer?

    Thanks

Hi jeditor, looking at your original question again it probably is related to the following option….

WP Security -> User Login -> Login Lockdown

Are you running the latest version of the plugin?

This suggests that you have the lockout feature active and since you entered the incorrect login details more than the configured amount of times, the plugin locked you out for a period of time which you set in the lockout settings page.
In order to be able to get back in, you either have to wait for the lockout period to expire, OR,
you can temporarily rename this plugin’s folder by logging into your server using an ftp client.
