Locked Out

Hello guys your spam feature works great. I installed the security plugin and it was working fine but it seem a bit aggressive. It locked me out while I was doing some admin work. I whitelisted my ip on your web site but it keep locking me out. When I finally got in I disabled it. I run a community site , can you tell me

1. How to whitelist my ip.

2. Is there away to make it user friendly but safe. I will have users signing up and logging in quite a bit
