    Hello!

Thank you for this amazing plug-in, easy to use and perfect for my needs, just what I need and simple to use and edit. Phenomenal!

Problem: submissions from Iphone to the map, the images always appear sideways

I’m running into this image issue with uploading locations with images from Iphone. I have the Pro Version 1.2.13. I tried searching for a fix on WordPress forums, but I think the issue is within uploading images through the map plug-in on Iphone, since I have no problems editing the images on other pages on my site on WordPress, just within the Open User Map plug-in.

    Here’s the issue:
Adding a new location from Iphone: Uploading a location from iphone with an image always appears sideways on the map
Adding a new location from computer: uploading a location from computer with the same image appears the right way

This isn’t fixed by editing the (Iphone) submission from computer, needs to be a whole new submission made on computer.

I read somewhere that the problem may be with the image’s EXIF data, but this isn’t fixed by installing a “fix image rotation” plug-in.

Is anyone facing similar issues or found a solution? All help highly appreciated.

Again, thank you for this plug-in and hopefully we can work this out! ??

    Best Regards, Leevi

    Hey Leevi,

Thanks for reaching out and I’m happy to read your kind words on my plugin. I started digging into this and noticed that the image rotation only happens to the thumbnail version of the image (as the plugin stores both versions to enable full screen images later on). So the bug sits there and I think this is solvable.

I’m on it and will keep you in the loop on this.

    Best Regards,
    Daniel

PS: if you are happy with the plugin please consider droping a quick review. This helps a lot.

    Hello Daniel,

thank you so much for the answer and for the resolved issue! Great to receive an answer, makes using the plugin more trustworthy! I will definitely drop a review once I get everything running smoothly again.

NEW ISSUE: locations’ images mixed up

Thanks for the image removal option, it’s a good addition. However, I now ran into another issue related to that. Once I removed an image to replace it with another one, it messed up the other pictures. Now there are locations which pictures does not match the location (the same picture appears on many locations, even when it should only be on one). It appears that someone adding a location with an image now mixed the photos as well (this new location’s picture appeared on older location’s pictures).

It seems that the small photo displayed when viewing a location on the map comes randomly from the gallery and not from the assigned location editor page, where the uploaded image is correct.

Has anyone else run into this issue? I’ll make a separate thread for this with this same message, please delete the other one and keep the one which you find more suitable.

Here’s a video showing the issue.

    Video:
-image appearing on map isn’t the same as it should be from the location editor. Example ASI Berlin Shop
-(latest added location’s) image appears as older location’s image

Could this be a problem with the thumbnails? I didn’t quite understand how that works, is the difference between the image and the thumbnail only something that goes on in the background and I don’t have to worry about that?

Also the image preview on the location editor tab could be so that the whole image is visible.

(this issue presented itself before the update (Version 1.2.16 ) and updating to it didn’t fix it)

    Thanks again,

    BR, Leevi
