• Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) or WP Engine is having quarrel with WordPress.

WordPress seems to have even done a hostile takeover of the ACF plugin, as you can see here — https://youtu.be/qFlORU3NGX0?si=vLePgA3Wq_S6oqTA

Now, for years, Pods is there, but people don’t normally speak of Pods for Custom fields.

People natively and naturally speak of ACF.

A small survey showed me that 3 things were responsible for this:

    1.) EARLY ELEMENTOR INTEGRATION

ACF integrated early into the Elementor Page builder.

This gave ACF a quick recognition because it meant that people could build customized websites using Elementor and ACF.

    2.) REPEATER FIELD
ACF Pro was quick to provide Repeater fields.

This meant that people could create interactive websites where people could input repeatable information.

    3.) LOCATION RULES
ACF had Location rules where we can say “Show field if Post Category equals to Lifestyle“.

This means that we can create custom fields and also specify where to use them.

This feature in ACF was so powerful and revolutionary because we could achieve such Conditional feat without Custom PHP coding.

Unfortunately, Pods didn’t have such feature for years.

    MOVING FORWARD
Now that ACF is somewhat on its way out, would Pods do itself the honour of taking its place?

    By this, I mean that:

1.) Would Pods strengthen its integration with Elementor?

2.) Would Pods provide the ACF feature of Location Rules, in Pods?

    Regards.
