Location of Poster

Hi,
Is there a plugin that would allow for the addition of a geographic location of the Poster? In essence, I want to add “Posted by Joe Schmoe from Los Angeles”, where Los Angeles would be selected by the poster from a dropdown of geographic locations every time they posted. The list would actually be limited, in other words, I dont need it to dynamically generate any geographic location on the planet based on an address or anything. I would love it to be like “category”, where they could add their own locations as needed, or else selecte from a small list. Is there a plugin which is either created directly for this purpose, or else can be adapted? I realize it might just be a matter of adapting a basic list selection plugin or something…
