• Hello,

I want to provide links in my posts so readers can look at files I will provide such as source code listings, etc. I’m having trouble choosing a location because:

My domain is hosted at a site that only provides parameterized web sites. I don’t have access to any file system there.

My blog is set up as a subdomain that is hosted elsewhere, but the root directory is the WordPress installation directory.

So I think I need to put my extra content inside the WordPress directory tree.

Is this an ok thing to do?

Will my uploaded files survive upgrades?

I was planning to use directories that already exist: <my-root>/wp-content/uploads/2009/05 Is this a good place for these files?

I guess a new such directory will get created automagically each month?

    Thanks for your guidance.

    -Dan
