    I’m getting a “Location not found” when I try to enter an address in the backend, with a “Map unavailable” in the front end.

    I’m running running WordPress 4.6 with Events Manager 5.6.5 and theme Write 1.1.0.

    I don’t think it will be of much help but here is the website with the sample location page (it’s a bare bones test site): https://bspf.casadasereia.net/locations/galerie-ravenstein/

    I have also created a Google maps API key, entered it in the Formatting > Maps settings area and enabled Google maps integration.

    I have tried to disable all other plugins but still no dice…

    What else can I check?

    Thank you for any help.

  • Fabricis,
    I had the same problem as you. I found that you have to add Latitude and Longitude attributes to the Location. To do this go to the Events Manager Settings page and under the General tab add the following in the Location Attributes field.

    #_LATT{#_LOCATIONLATITUDE}
    #_LATT{#_LOCATIONLONGITUDE}

    You can then enter the Latitude and Longitude for each Location.

    You will need the Google Maps API Key, as you have done. I found that on the API Credentials I had to add my website domain i.e. https://mywebsite.com/*

    Hope that helps. It took me hours to work this out. There are lots of people posting the same question but very few answers.

    Regards … Tim.

    Thank you tim.
    I manged to add the latitude and longitude fields and filled them with information from the google maps site.
    I also managed to add the domain and verify its ownership in the Google API manager but I still cannot see the map and the back end and front end still show what I reported initially.

    Despite being able to create the API key and verifying the domain and its ownership, I noticed that on the Google site they were offering a Free trial of the services so I ask myself if this a paid service that will only work once I enable the free trial or pay for the service. Do you know if this is the case?

    Thank you again.

    Viva Marco,

    No. I’m unfortunately still facing this issue.
    Do you also have it? Or do you know how to solve it or what to troubleshoot next?

    Obrigado!

    Problem solved.

    I removed the Google project and started from scratch. And now it worked. I think I had created a Server API key when the instructions clearly say it should be a Browser API key… So, my fault on this one.

    I have also disabled the Enable location attributes option under Settings > General > Location settings and it still works so Tim’s suggestion to use this option doesn’t seem to be necessary.

    Thank you all for your help.
