Location in WP Admin Menu

Hi,
Since I am having to edit the plugin to format and add some fields, I would rather have the plugin in the mu-plugins folder so my client can’t update the plugin and over-write the edits I have made.
When I move it to the mu-plugins folder it ceases to function.
1. what do I need to change to make it function
2. how can I move it in the main menu to the Genesis folderhttps://cassie.thinkmedia.ca/realtors/mitch-popilchak/
