• In my latest theme the RSS feed is not working and is giving me the error of:

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
    Location: https://localhost/wordpress/?feed=rss2
    Line Number 4, Column 1:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    ^

I have not come across this line of code while making my new theme, and would like to sort it out, but i can’t when i don’t know where it is. I have checked all the filed i have edited and the line is not in any of them and i wouldn’t have deleted it from another file, so i guess some of my new ones should have it in?

    Thanks,

    Luke.

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to rule-out a theme-specific issue.

Well i have no plugins activated, and i am pretty sure it is my theme that is doing something wrong because the default themes work as i tested it before. Also when i click on something like delete comment in the back end the page just goes blank and i have to press back and refresh to do anything.

No idea what i have done wrong ??

Try reinstalling the theme from a clean (unedited) copy.

How do you mean? i have made the theme from scratch so i dont really have a ‘clean’ copy of it.

In that case I wouldn’t know where to start beyond the fact that the theme is causing the problem.
