Locally Installing WP on Ubuntu

I’ve been thinking about loading Ubuntu on my machine, but it would cause too many conflicts with other machines on the LAN here ??

Anyway, nice tutorial, I especially like the fact you mentionned XAMPP’s security script ??

Thanks for this. I’m just reading it now, but it sounds like exactly what I’m looking for. Unfortunately I already tried installing it on my own, so first I have to back out my changes / check what I’ve already got configured… ?? If I’m successful I might write an article on that (recovering after you tried unsuccessfully to get WP running locally, then found better instructions).
