locally install in a linux account

Here is what I want to do.. I want to use wordpress as a log book in my job. I would like to write daily reports on what I have done. A few things… Since this will contain confidential info, it can only run in intranet of my company. We have a linux system running but I am not sure how I can configure to run wordpress in my own linux account. I have no admin priviliges. I searched this forum with “local installation”, but couldn’t find what I am looking for. Can someone please help? Thanx
