    Hi there,

such a great plugin, works like a charm. Nice job.
I’m trying to figure out, how can I translate to other language e.g. error messages after a form submission. I tried my usual approach with the plugin loco translate, but it is not working for me.
    Does your plugin support localization?

    Cheers

  • Hey there, @ludekcerny!

HappyForms fully supports translations, and Loco is our main suggestion for that task. Some text values are dynamic though, and you’ll need to configure those manually. Out of curiosity, are translations partially working, or not working at all for you?

    Let us know your discoveries!

    Hi,

it is strange then. Dynamic texts are working as expected, but translation is not working at all. The messages shown after validation remains in English.

Can’t figure out, what can be wrong.

    Thanks

    Oh okay, @ludekcerny!

Would you mind double-checking that System is chosen as a location when creating a new translation with Loco Translate? We have a hunch that will fix it up for you.

Let us know how you go! ??

    Hi,

well, it is working now, when I choose System as a location for the file.
But as far as I know, this is not the best practice, because update of the plugin will overwrite the translation. Am I right?

However, thank you for the hint. It saved the situation for now, but I’m curious if there is a better solution for the future.

    Cheers

    Glad to hear that, @ludekcerny!

System is actually “safe”: files in this location will be overwritten only by WordPress language installer. This applies only if you have enabled automatic translation updates, and a duplicate language is available on our plugin registry. As an extra security update, you could disable automatic language updates.

We agree though, we could improve things and support Loco custom locations. Doing so would completely decouple languages from updates, and remove any risk of overwriting. We’re taking notes!

Let us know what you think. ??
