localhost refused to connect.

  • Hello, I am having difficulty accessing my wordpress through my localhost. I think that this problem occured after I updated to Catalina.

    Basically, when I go through MAMP and click on My Website, it takes me to https://localhost:8888/ (this is the correct port) where it shows me “Index of /” and a link to “wordpress/”. When I click on wordpress I see:

    “This site can’t be reachedlocalhost refused to connect.
    Try:

    Checking the connection
    Checking the proxy and the firewall
    ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED”
