localhost – can't navigate to other pages in site other than home page

    Hi,
    I installed wordpress on localhost, it was a download from live site server.
    I can see my home page in localhost/mysitename
    but when i try to navigate to other pages i get “object not found” 404 error.
    what step did i miss.

    I am using Xampp
