Local Post Writing Sandbox to Live Publish

Is there a way to set up WordPress locally, where I can create content, then when I hit “Publish” it sends all information to my live site? Hopefully not a sandbox XAMPP type situation where I have to maintain both versions? I used to use the WordPress app on iOS, but could only write the post. Other plugin functions never transferred to the app and I found myself finishing online.

The idea is for me to create my content offline using my own resources and not the host’s services, so my VPS can simply handle traffic. I can also write more content without being connected to my site.
