Local installation

    i’ve some problems installing WP locally in Xampp even fulfilling these instructions an error message appear that the database can not be selected even the connection to the server was established

  • Are you sure you gave the MySQL user you are using to log in permissions for that database?

    i have to do it in xampp directory or in the WP folder?

    This is a setting you need to do within MySQL, not related to WodPress, these are not folder permissions, rather database access permissions. I have no experience with xampp, (mac user) so I can’t give you detailed instructions

    back to xamp it’s okay
    i’ve wrongly create the database
