Local Host BUT with existing WP files

Trying to set up a local host to run our 4 WordPress sites locally.

(Cliff notes on why: We moved 4 **VERY OLD** WP sites from a former employee’s personal hosting account to the corporate site and moving forward I’d like to make/test changes locally before going live with them. On advice from hosting we did not update WP before moving, so all four are running slightly different versions of WP)

I am on a Mac and have installed MAMP. I have complete copies of the latest versions of the WP files on my desktop. I am paused at the point in the instructions where it says to install WP and looking for advice on the best way to move forward.
