Local Avatars Not Showing

    Hi,

    after updating I cleared the avatar cache in the wpDiscuz settings. Since then local avatars are not showing in the comments anymore for users. I am using “Simple Local Avatars” plugin and it used to work without any issues before the update.

    Hi @tea23hah,
    Try to disable wpDiscuz Avatar Cache.
    If the problem is not solved, please contact the Simple Local Avatars support and ask them make the addon compatible for wpDiscuz 7 version. I’m really sorry, but we’re not familiar with this plugin and can’t support this issue. We don’t know what hook it uses and why it becomes incompatible with wpDiscuz 7.

    It uses the standard get_avatar() function. This seems to be an issue with your new version 7 as it worked perfectly fine before the update.

    wpDiscuz also uses the get_avatar() function. You can check it yourself.
    The file: /wpdiscuz/themes/default/class.WpdiscuzWalker.php

    This is why I ask you contact them. It’s very hard to find out why the get_avatar() function is not working now. It works fine for wpDiscuz and other profile builder plugins avatars (BuddyPress, Ultimate members, wpForo) but for some reason, only the Local Avatars plugin doesn’t work.

    It works fine for wpDiscuz and other profile builder plugins avatars (BuddyPress, Ultimate members, wpForo)

    This doesn’t have any relation to the avatars. This was a totally different problem and it’s already fixed in upcoming 7.0.1 version, we’re releasing it within next 24 hours.

    BTW, we also check the issue related to the Local Avatars plugin, so it’s also possible that we may find some solutions, but I can’t promise anything at the moment.

    Hi @tea23hah,

    We’ve checked this on our test website. There is not such an issue. Please navigate to Dashboard > wpDiscuz > Settings > General Settings admin page and make sure the “Gravatar caching” is disabled.
