We are crawling a site regularly with a SEO tool. Since a couple of days, number of URLs exploded to several thousands. Most related to The Events Calendar. What could be the reason, that so many links for pages even without events are generated?

We adjusted the robots.txt to disallow crawling for many of them.

While investigating I came across such links:
    https://DOMAIN/de/(/?:events)/(/?:list)/&eventDisplay=past

Is TheEC having problems with WPML – multilingual pages?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @twentyzen
Thanks for reaching out and for your patience on this.

I’m sorry to hear you are having this issue. See if this helps:

Log into WordPress, go to > Users >Profile > Language: make sure it’s set to “Site Default“. Then Save the Events Calendar settings without making any changes. Check for correct URLs.

    Thanks
