Loading Time and SEO Compatibility for Onetone and other plugins
-
Hi – our Onetone homepage is pretty heavy on rich media, primarily due to the video background which is being streamed from youtube.
I’d like to ensure that we optimise the site for SEO and loading times. Content which is above / below the fold shouldn’t cause delays in the rendering of visible content (which would improve our SEO) and any content embedded in the site should be identified and properly handled by SEO plugins in order to ensure they are search engine friendly.
I know that there are numerous plugins for SEO and speed optimisations with WordPress, but now that I see how different the Onetone theme operates compared to regular wordpress pages, I’m worried that SEO plugins may not work with it or actually break it.
Is there a technique for ensuring that any SEO/Speed optimisation plugin I install will operate safely and comprehensively with my site?
(FYI I have set my site up using the “default” mode for Onetone’s content edit boxes instead of “custom” mode for each section – would I need to switch to “custom” instead?
If so, how do I also ensure that the video background is being correctly “seen” by an SEO plugin, since Onetone to my knowledge provides no way to expose the source of that background.
If there’s no solution to this, then could you please recommend another Parallax theme with video background support (or source-code exposure capability to allow me to embed my own in one of the panels) that IS compatible with SEO and speed optimisation plugins.
Thanks,
Marc
