    Hello,

I can see that Locotranslate is one of my slowest loading plugins. Together with a lot of functions that take a big percentage of my loading time. Is there anything I can do to make it work better/quicker?

    Any help is welcome. Thanks,

    Gijs

Do you mean on Loco Translate’s own admin pages, other admin pages, or publicly accessible parts of your site?

It’s based on Kinsta APM, I guess public accessable content.

Loco Translate does very little on publicly accessible parts of your site. It loads one, maybe two small PHP files at most, and makes no queries to the database. It is not a “slow loading plugin” in this sense.

I am curious to see how your tool pegged my plugin as the cause for slow speeds. Possibly it is the loading of translation files which is the real cause? My plugin does not control the performance of this. Loading of translation files is a core WordPress function.

That could be. Other question then. Something I have been wondering for years.
Can I delete all the languages from a plugin that I don’t use? And which ones do need as core file?

I can’t tell you which files you need and which you don’t. Files that do nothing, do no harm either. If you’re unsure what specific files do then you should leave them alone

Conlusion: Nothing to worry about and don’t delete anything. That’s great! Thanks.

    Hello

Same for me, my hosting is Kinsta and I see that Locotranslate in front end is taking 35% of total duration ressources compare to all other plugin (Woocommerce is at 6%).

Apparently the problem is with the Loco_hooks_LoadHelper→on_load_textdomain in relation with /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php transaction. Compare to all hooks used in the page Locotranslate represent 22% of total ressources of all hooks.

Is there a way in the setting to speed up a website using Locotranslate ?

    Best regards,

    Emmanuel
