• Updated the plugin as per the WP Dashboard notification, deleted the log file (after having saved it to CSV) and when I try to fire up the plugin all I get is “Loading the bits, please wait…” I’ve tried to reinstall it, but it won’t let me deactivate it. I’ve grown fond the the plugin, but it seems to have developed an unhealthy need to remain on the site. Pesky little bugger. Any help would be appreciated.

  • I have installed version 2.7.1 and still have a problem with “Loading the bits, please wait…”

No js errors in the console.

    Hello jurasjo,

Do you have Yoast SEO plugin? Can you try deactivating it, then goto Redirection settings, see if it fixed the issue, then reactivate Yoast SEO and check Redirection settings a 2nd time, please.

Let us know how it did.

    Best regards,
    Florence.

I use Yoast SEO plugin but deactivating it doesn’t fix the problem. I will check if version 2.6.6 or earlier works form me.

Have you deactivated all the other plugins, to check if any of them was in conflict with Redirection?

I have deactivated all the plugins and version 2.7.1 still doesn’t work for me. I have checked version 2.6.6 and loads option page normally but looks like disabling redirection is not disabling it(check screenshot)

I’ve tested again on local machine and I confirm you the conflict with RokAjaxSearch on my install after 2.7.1 update as well: with RokAjaxSearch enabled no Redirection dashboard, with RokAjaxSearch disabled Redirection dashboard is working.

I also have Yoast SEO installed and activated, but on my local install it doesn’t conflict with Redirection dashboard.

With FF Web Developer in Browse Console I have several error messages, but I don’t know ho to interpret and quote them. Here are the last few lines where also Redirection is mentioned:

    TypeError: t is undefined[Learn More] redirection.js:24:22294
Error: Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist. (unknown)
Unchecked lastError value: Error: Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist. ExtensionCommon.jsm:264
Error: Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist. (unknown)
Unchecked lastError value: Error: Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist. ExtensionCommon.jsm:264

Then provide a screenshot from your console showing the errors, jurasjo. Else, John cannot help.

You can provide a screenshot too, tropauer.

Hmm, drat. Thanks for being patient with this.

I did try RokAjaxSearch and it doesnt cause a problem for me, but I may not have it set up in the same way.

At this point it would be useful to have access to a site that is exhibiting the problem. If anyone is willing to give me a temporary login to try Redirection then that would be very helpful. I can be contacted through the contact form on my site (click my profile).

One final thing to try is to add this to your wp-config.php:

    define( 'REDIRECTION_FLYING_SOLO', true );

This was added in 2.7.1 and disables the JavaScript of all other plugins when viewing a Redirection page. They shouldn’t really be including their own code outside of their pages anyway, but that’s another issue. I didn’t want to enable it by default in case it causes other problems.

RokAjaxSearch doesn’t seem to include any JavaScript so it probably won’t help there.

I have written previously: there are no errors at all.

    redirection.js is loaded.

@jurasjo try flushing all caches including any proxy such as CloudFlare if using and try again we had a lot of issues with it also today but after adding define( 'REDIRECTION_FLYING_SOLO', true ); and clearing all cache we have it working again now.

I have cleared CF cache and options page is loading normally. Thanks @adam__ph

@jurasjo I’m glad you have it working!

Thank you John! I’ve just sent you the credentials to access my website showing the problem.

    Hi John,

Strangely, it didn’t work anymore after the update. I had to deactivate Yoast SEO again and purge my browser cache to make it work again.

    Best regards,
    Florence.
