Loading splash doesn't work

    I can’t seem to get the loading screen to work. What am I doing wrong? I noticed that my theme (and most themes, I think) is using xhtml 1.0 transitional:

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "https://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

    Should this be html 5? Is that why the loading screen isn’t working?
