    Hi,

I found that the RAM and CPU went pretty high. Upon asking my server, I was told by them that WordFence seems to be the reason.

I’m wondering if there’s any setting to tweak to reduce the loading time.

    Thank you!

Hi @barrelleaf, thank-you for your patience, this seems to be quite a tricky one.

I can think of other occasions when “Scan stop request received” errors were related to a cURL error that has occurred a number of times where Cloudflare can’t connect to your site, but this is only resolvable by host if they can see your site’s access and error logs. However the error code coming up here was a 521 rather than the 403 we are seeing.

The 403 error should be purely related to an access error that we should have already allowed with the changes to the Cloudflare firewall. Your hosting support may be able to assist if any settings are causing blocks to our IPs still.

Please also try enabling Low Resource Scanning in Wordfence > Scan > Scan Options and Scheduling > Performance Options, saving, then trying another scan. Finally, you could try following our remove/reset instructions to reinstall a fresh version of Wordfence but I sincerely believe the block is happening at the Cloudflare firewall so there is not much likelihood of this being the solution: https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/remove-or-reset/

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi @wfpeter,

Thank you for digging in for me. I think it’s something with CloudFlare but not sure if it’s some setting I missed.

I’ve actually checked the Low Resource Scanning after reading the “Scan Options” article.
I’ll talk to my hosting support to see if they have any information about this issue.

I’ll leave this thread open. If I find something, I’ll come back here either to provide more information and close this thread.

    Thank you.

    Hi @wfpeter,

I’ve talked to my hosting support and found that it’s their security plugin that caused this issue. (maybe they changed something in the previous update)

The scan could start but it still had problems finishing. But it’s something related to the hosting so it’s not about Wordfence.

Thank you for your patience and help. I really appreciate it.

    Sincerely,
    Nora
