pagination closes window

I’ve implemented a gallery plugin (MLA) that opens in featherlight and paginates content, but when pages are clicked the lightbox just closes instead of loading the next batch. What needs to be done to make pagination stay in the lightbox window? I don’t see a suitable option in $.featherlight.defaults.
