Loading icon/bar for self-hosted videos?

  • Hello, I noticed that my self-hosted background videos (around 10MB) need some time to be fully loaded and to start playback (autoplay), depending on the internet connection.
    Is it possible to add a loading icon as long as the video is not loaded? Now the background just stays black and visitors might already go to the next page or scroll down before the video is loaded.

    Hey.

    I think you just need to add a Poster image. And while the video is in a loading state, the user will see the image.

    Thanks for your answer. This is not a good soltion. When I use a gif icon loading picture, it does not really look good on the different devices, depending on screen size. And aso creates additional traffic. And you don’t see how much of that background image is loades (e.g. in %)
