We have just updated to WP 5.0 and now get this error message:

‘PHP Warning: Use of undefined constant DB_NAME – assumed ‘DB_NAME’ (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/…./wp-includes/load.php on line 404′

    Please advise.

    Regards and thanks,
    Angus

    Hi,

That line does not match with what is actually the code in WordPress 5.0, is is possible that you have an incomplete update, or a manually modified file here.

If possible, please visit Dashboard > Updates, and hit the Reinstall WordPress 5.0 button. (no worries, this will only replace core files, and your site will still function as normal)

    Hi Marius,
    Thank for the speedy reply!
I have reinstalled as requested and will monitor to see if the error shows again.

    Hi Marius,
I see NO recurrence of the issue since I reloaded v5.0.
I also checked the IPs involved and found that the errors all came from the same location and were probably part of a brute-force attack.
    Sorry for all the trouble.
    Regards and thanks,
    Angus
